Easter Breaks in Hadrian’s Wall Country 2012
 The last couple of springs have brought amazing weather to Hadrian’s Wall Country – April can actually be one of the better months in the North with less rain than August and as much sunshine as in the summer months!
The date for Good Friday is April 6th 2012 and Easter Monday is April 9th 2012.

The Spring Walking Festival will take place from April 28th to May 7th 2012 and uses the enthusiasm of local residents to guide visitors, providing the opportunity to explore the highest points on Hadrian's Wall, take in Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historical market town of Haltwhistle and the remote South Tyne Valley.

Hadrian's Wall - Part of London 2012 Festival
 The London 2012 Festival is a spectacular 12-week nationwide celebration bringing together leading artists from across the world with the very best from the UK, opening on Midsummer’s Day 21st June and running until 9th September 2012.
Hadrian’s Wall, the UK’s most significant Roman site, will be the site for an installation which is still under development. It will be accessible to visitors at several locations along its 86 miles.

Kielder Marathon 2012
 Billed as
‘Britain’s most beautiful marathon’ this is the third year of an event envisaged to follow in the footsteps of other major athletic events in North East England as an annual highlight and expected to take place on Sunday 7th October 2012.
Kielder Water's shoreline is 26 miles long making it an ideal venue for the ultimate running challenge, the marathon. Most of the course is off-road and it offers a wonderful test for trail runners, adventure racers and marathon enthusiasts alike. Add to that the stunning setting, with a wonderful new view at every twist and turn, we think that this is quickly going to establish a reputation as the most beautiful marathon in Britain.
