Carraw, a family run hill farm, situated on the foundations of Hadrian's Wall is set in wonderful open countryside offering lovely south facing views of Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The accommodation, as featured in the Guardian, consists of four south facing first floor letting rooms Chesters, Brocolitia, Housesteads and Vindolanda, offering a range of options including two family rooms. All rooms offer en-suite facilities with modern efficient showers (and some with baths), bathrobes, hairdryers, tea and coffee making facilities with full hospitality trays, remote control colour televisions and a supply of toiletries just in case things get forgotten.

Carraw Bed and Breakfast, a luxury Four Star Silver B&B Guest House under the Visit Britain Quality Standards scheme are also participants in the National Walkers and Cyclist Welcome Scheme offering secure cycle storage and laundry/drying facilities. We are also members of the Hadrian’s Wall Northumberland Network (HWNN).

There is a guest lounge with Satellite TV, DVD/video player, a selection of DVD’s and videos, games, books, maps and guides, or you may prefer to relax and enjoy the garden and make the most of the setting sun.

We offer FREE wireless high speed broadband internet access to those wishing to use their own Wifi enabled laptop computer whilst staying with us at Carraw Bed and Breakfast - subject to compatibility. 

We are fully licensed; offering a range of locally produced bottled beers and lagers, a range of wines, champagne for that special occasion, as well as a selection of spirits.

Your room will be available from 4.00pm on your day of arrival.

We offer off road parking, so why not make a few days of it, leave the car and utilise the Hadrian's Wall Bus (AD122) to explore the area.

If you are on a walking tour, ask about baggage transfer and we will be only too pleased to put you in the right direction.

To help in celebrating a special occasion, we would be pleased to organise that special touch, such as champagne on ice, box of chocolates, a wonderful bouquet of flowers in favourite colours, or even a Hadrian's Wall Welcome Hamper. These can be arranged to be in the room on your arrival.

We are members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and have achieved a Silver award to recognise our commitment in reducing our impact on the environment, utilising local suppliers and harnessing the sun’s energy to assist in heating the hot water.

For the comfort and consideration of all guests all areas in the accommodation are non-smoking.

Unfortunately we are unable accommodate pets. (Well-behaved assistance dogs are welcome).
